Friday Recreation for VBS is always a water balloon toss. The kids toss the water balloons back and forth between partners over ever-increasing distances until the balloon breaks and they are out of the round. Love catching shots like this one where the balloon breaks at the last possible moment. It's "Make a Splash Week" at I Heart Faces. Come on over and jump in with your splashy photo!

When you're doing a 365 project, I've read that it is good to have a plan, to think ahead about things you'd like to take pictures of. So, every day I try to think of something relevant to that day that I can use, and then if something better presents itself, I ditch that original idea. What I had originally planned to shoot on January 10, 2014, will be there another day---this photo won't. I really like the way the colors photographed. I haven't done a thing to this picture except crop it.
Dense Fog Advisory

As I was racking my brain, trying to think of a way to show the fog in our neighborhood on January 9, 2014, this man walked by our house with his dog. That gave me an idea. Now all I had to do was wait for them to cross the road and hope that no cars came along to disturb the tranquility of the scene....

I've been trying to use pictures other than the bird pictures I take every day for my 365 project. I could put in a bird picture almost every day, but I have been trying to document other parts of my day instead of just posting pictures of the birds that come to my deck rail to enjoy the sunflower seeds I put out for them. That being said, my husband REALLY wanted me to use this picture for my January 7, 2014 photo---and I must admit that this dove and jay kept quite a running battle going for a good portion of the day, so it is, indeed, appropriate for me to choose this one......
Un-Decorating

Taking the Christmas decorations down is not NEARLY as much fun as putting them up, It is a LOT of work and everything looks so bare when you are finished. I doubt that most of the people in our church give much thought to how those decorations get put up and taken down again, so I tried to show in this January 6, 2014 photo the lengths---and heights---some people go to just to get the job done .
Is There An Interpreter in the House?

I knew it was bound to happen. On January 5, 2014, I was singing in the choir, then the worship team, then singing the solo special, so I was totally unavailable to help with the only part of the intrepeting for the deaf that I am any good at. So, of course, that day, we needed an interpreter. It wasn't Linda's turn, but she stepped in to do the sermon. It just felt like a topsy-turvy day. Didn't take the picture this way on purpose, either. I was trying to get my flash to pop up, but I liked the shot, anyway because it was very indicative of how I was feeling that day.....
